Our Mission

“We Care” in Rancho Cucamonga
In May, 2012, a community partnership was formed between the city, churches, non-profits, service clubs, and service minded individuals in Rancho Cucamonga.
The Rancho Cucamonga Service Council is dedicated to finding and carrying out service opportunities to meet the needs of the city’s citizens. “We knew there were a lot of good deeds being carried out in Rancho Cucamonga by many different organizations.  Creating the Service Council allows these groups to come together and combine their resources, therefore expanding their ability to reach out and serve more people,” said Caryn Payzant, Director of Public Affairs for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and current RC Service Council President.
So far, the service council has assisted in repairing a mobile home for a senior citizen, contributed food baskets for the city’s annual Thanksgiving Basket Food Drive, and hosted a city Service Fair.
In addition to providing a communication link for service project opportunities throughout the city, another goal of the council is to combine efforts with all the member organizations in conducting one or two super projects each year. Current projects and future opportunities can be found on the service council’s Facebook page: RC-Service-Council.  Please visit our page and give us a “like.”

The RC Service Council meets the last Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the RC Family Resource Center.  If you or your organization is interested in becoming a part of this dynamic group, contact Miguel Armendarez, Community Services, 909-477-2781, ext. 2363.
